Greetings.

Hi, Frances here.
Thank you for taking a look at my blog.

For those of you who found this blog through the video I'm going to put up on Indiegogo, thank you for contributing (or for considering contributing as the case may be) to my training.

For the rest of you guys, I'm Frances.
I am a New Zealander(a Kiwi), and I am currently living in Malaysia with my mum and my little sister.
I'm 19, and like most other 19 year olds, I am beginning to try to step out into the reality of the adult world.
Over the past year(and almost a half now) since I left High School, I've been trying to find which direction I am going to go in life.
My biggest stumbling block through all this has been education and experience. Namely, my lack of having much of either yet. Especially the second one.
Probably what most you will think in response to that is "Ok, well stop whining about it and go get some experience. Find a job!"
My response, "I've looked and looked and looked!"

Let's start at the beginning;
During my last year of High School, I thought over my options and decided not to do the traditional thing and go to a University for three or four years, studying about something that I don't really care about simply for the privilege of being able to say I had a degree.
Because of this, as I've sent my CV out over the past year no one has been willing to hire me. They see that I don't have any previous experience to prove I can do the work. They see I'm out of High School but not "bothering" to further my education by going to a university, and they don't look further.

The answer to that is a simple one. If I don't want to go to Uni, I should find and do some other sort of training, then find a job.

Here is the catch 22 situation. I did think of that. In fact that was my original plan. I had thought I would be well into doing something already by now. Then reality hit, and I put training on the back burner to find a job and save some money for a few years to pay for my training to do something I can enjoy doing.

Now we've come full circle. I can't get training unless I can pay for it. I can't pay for it unless I'm earning and/or have earned money. And I can't get a job unless I've had training.

So I'm asking for your help. Please contribute some money to my fund raiser on indiegogo that I am going to put up in the next few days, and send me to get training so that I can get up off my mother's couch and take my first steps into becoming an adult who can fend for myself.

And, if you want, come back here and take a look now and then to join me on my journey over the next year as I post about the experiences you help make possible for me.

That's it for now, until I have more to report, Frances.
